Island Swimming started the meet off in fine fashion on Day 1 of the Tucson Ford Dealers Invitational. Here are the results for the distance events.

Final Day of the Santa Clara International

There was some great swimming last night. Although she didn't quite manage to beat the Aussies, Hilary Caldwell did manage to win the bronze medal in the 200 backstroke, Julia Wilkinson was 5th. Alec Page finished 6th in the 400 IM.

The final day of competition in Santa Clara will have Julia Wilkinson competing in the 100 back, and will finish up with Alexa Komarnycky also competing in her Olympic event, the 800 free. Even though they are in the middle of some hard training, it will be exciting to see where they are at. This is the line up of Island Swimming/VAS Swimmers competing today.

Island Swimming/VAS Olympians competing in Santa Clara International.

Island Swimming's/Victoria Academy of Swimming has 7 athletes competing in the Santa Clara International Grand Prix this weekend (L-R Blake Worsley, Alexa Komarnycky, Ryan Cochrane, Hilary Caldwell(PSW), Stephanie Horner, Alec Page, Julia Wilkinson & Coach Randy Bennett).

The competition promises to be fierce with Taehwan Park of Korea, a strong Australian team and of course, many potential 2012 American Olympians gearing up for their Olympic Trials at the end of June.

Day 1 starts today at 4pm PST with the women's 1500 free followed by the Men's 800 free where Island Swimming's Ryan Cochrane actually has some competition in the pool. watch it live
